Back Up!

Created by the Young Company & Katie Greenall

“At the moment, I’m at the Bush. A place which I have only known recently, but a place where I don’t want to leave when my time comes. Where I am filled with so much serotonin afterwards I sleep like a baby at night”

The Bush Theatre’s first ever Young Company wants to introduce themselves to you. Back Up! is a story of young Londoners, people from here and elsewhere, who now call this place home. A story of where they’ve been and where they’re going. It’s a declaration of intent. You better listen up.

The Young Company’s high-octane, witty first show is a sharing of things that matter to them and a celebration of their first year together. It’s the start of something, rather than the end.

Join us to welcome the Bush Young Company to our main stage for the first time.

Charles Holloway OBE: From West London to the West End

Benedict Lombe’s play Shifters transferring from the Bush Theatre to the West End was a milestone moment: for the artists involved, the audiences they engaged, and the future of British theatre it will inspire. It offers a glimpse of what commercial theatre in this country could be. And as Bush audience members and supporters know,…
