ALT B: Noutéka Collective

Noutéka is a multi-disciplinary collective of artists based in London.

They kicked off the summer of 2018 with the release of the Men and Mice EP from SamPro. Since then they’ve joined forces with photographers, designers and dancers, eventually going on to perform live on a weekly basis. Inspired by the magical odysseys of the book Texaco, Noutéka is a quest of independence narrating the story of what a group of Afro-Caribbeans decided to do in Martinique once slavery was officially abolished. They rejected life in the city and the plantations and sought to design their own way of life, developing an independent way to survive (using ancestral knowledge) as they left for the virgin hills of the island to live out this idea.

Noutéka humbly try to honour their experience and their name by being independent, producing authentic content/events and not waiting on anyone to do what feels right.
